I’m an accidental stay-at-home mother of two girls: Ziggler, who’s 2 and a half (and a half) and Pickle, who’s 8 months but a most enormous and growly baby.

I used to get drunk every night, have a pretty good job and lots of friends.  I’m adjusting.  It’s HARD.  Here’s a record of how I’m doing.

Vicky not only are you (evidently) a lovely mummy, but you’re also a lovely writer and I’ve really enjoyed reading your thoughts. I’m sorry you feel lonely sometimes. I understand. But you are loved and you are missed.

Hi Vicky, as a fellow accidental stay-at-home mum with an eight year old girl and a five year old boy, reading your blog takes me straight back to playgroups in chilly church halls, potty training in public and feeling lonely and invisible with two shouty kids and a huge pushchair in tow. It feels like a different lifetime. Nowadays I actually look forward to hanging out with the kids and taking them to so stuff. I’m actually looking forward to taking my kids on the tube to the other side of London to check out Hampstead this weekend and I never thought I’d be able to say that! So hang in there and keep blogging because you’re very insightful and entertaining.
